Discovery Place Guided Nature Walks​

Through a network of four hands-on museums in three different cities, educational outreach programs and professional development for pre K-12 teachers throughout the region, Discovery Place is a leader in STEM education in the Carolinas.

Nestled in a park setting, Charlotte Nature Museum encourages visitors to discover the wonder of nature and develop an appreciation of the living and natural worlds. Through hands-on programming, interactions with native plants and animals and interactive play experiences, Charlotte Nature Museum connects children and families to the natural world. Programming highlights from the year include the annual Boo Bash and Groundhog Day, where we introduced a new Queen Charlotte to the City. More than 9,000 young students visited the Museum and many participated in more than 200 classes that give young children their first exposure to the animal life-cycle.
