A Charming Small Town With Much To Offer
Chartered in 1875 and named after Michael Montraville Weaver who gave the land for the town, Weaverville sits along the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, 10 miles north of Asheville. Surrounded on all sides by scenic views, there’s much to do, see and explore in the town of Weaverville.

Weaverville offers endless outdoor adventures including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, golfing, and skiing. If you're just looking for a leisurely stroll or place to gather with family and friends, Lake Louise Park is a wonderful spot, with picnic tables, grills, a playground, fitness area and a long walking trail. Hikers have Rattlesnake Lodge as a great access point off of the Blue Ridge Parkway from the Weaverville area and for mountain bikers, Alexander Bike Park has six miles of intermediate single track trails.
For historians and history lovers alike, you can also visit the childhood home of the late North Carolina Civil War governor Zebulon B. Vance. Just a few miles from Weaverville, located in Reems Creek Valley, this historic site is open to the public. The restored birthplace of Vance allows history lovers an opportunity to tour the 1790s slave dwelling, several 19th century outbuildings, the reconstructed log house of the Vance family and learn more about the life of Zebulon Vance and his political impact on the state.
Weaverville also boasts several fun annual festivities, like the Weaverville Art Safari that’s held in the spring. It’s a self guided, free event that offers a unique look at the artist’s work in their working environment featuring artists who specialize in a wide array of mediums including pottery, glass, and wood. The Art in Autumn festival is the celebration of community, fine art and crafts in the Main Street of the town, and includes 100 artists, food and live music with free admission and parking. Weaverville Candlelight Stroll, held on the second Friday night in December, is also worth traveling for. The holiday event features luminaries, gallery events, live music, and carriage rides.
Weaverville Restaurants
You can’t visit Weaverville without visiting some local hotspots like Well-Bred Bakery & Café, with its organic, artisan and fine gourmet foods. Blue Mountain Pizza & Brew Pub is a locally-owned pizzeria that churns out their own ice cream, Glass Onion features Northern Italian dishes, and Stoney Knob Café is a funky spot offering American, Greek, and European-inspired cuisine.
Looking for something more refreshing? Don’t fret! Asheville's notable brewing scene extends to Weaverville. Eluvium Brewing is a nano-brewery easily accessible from the Main Street restaurants, and Zebulon Artisan Ales is another local brewery offering a wide selection of sours, stouts, and IPAs.

The antique stores, local shops and galleries also make for a memorable stop while in Weaverville. Wild Mountain Bee Supply sells local honey, bee jewelry and other various bee-related items, while Miya Gallery offers fine art and crafts, representing 100 local and regional artists. Artisans on Main has four artist studios and a big gallery featuring 30-plus regional artists, and at Mangum Pottery, you can browse the gallery and watch potters at work in the studio.
