More About Me
How It Began:
I began my studies at UNC- Greensboro, with a focus in Design & New Media as well as Internal Studies with a concentration in Cultural Affairs and Cultural Anthropology. After participating in the university's study abroad program, I ventured out to continue my education abroad. First, I attended Richmond, International American Univerity in London where I focused on Visual Art Management & Curation. Then moved on to Manchester Metropolitan University where I dived deeper into Graphic Design and Art Direction.
Art (in general) has always been a source of individual expression and freedom. However, while studying I concluded that art and design have impacted the world immensely both past, and present, and will continue to in the future. Pushing forward into my studies was the perfect opportunity to explore both the practical and theoretical implications of design, design thinking, management (within cultural centers), sociology, journalism, advertising, marketing, law, and more.
Living abroad granted many moments of reflection, research, collaboration, and creativity - from diving into photojournalism to directing a film project.
How It's Going:
Being back home, especially in a state with less creative career opportunities does have minor setbacks but I'm finding ways to incorporate design thinking and strategy. I've currently been doing much work in maintaining brand governance, creative marketing, and project management as a brand marketing specialist. Additionally, I have created new branding and communication outputs for many Fortune 500 companies.
Moving Forward:
I am fluid like water, I can transform and adapt to my environment. I see the bigger picture and endless possibilities based on each calculated step I take which is why my goals may be tweaked or may adapt to a different objective as I continue to transform professionally.
Long term goal would be to venture out into product management or associate senior creative advisor. As a brand marketing specialist and seasoned graphic designer, many of my current skills are equipped to perform the some of responsibilities of these titles as I am currently a professional in charge of my company's advertising and marketing efforts.
Additionally, since I currently support my company's change management implementations - I am fit to identify customer initiatives and the larger business objectives that a service, product, or communications output will fulfill. The ability to articulate what success looks like for a campaign, marketing initiative, or creative channel and rally a team to turn that vision into a reality is a rare trait. Knowing this, I'm always ready for the next adventure.
