ABOUT THE EVENT /
The director of the Berlin Wall Foundation, Dr. Axel Klaus Meier announced that for the first time we are doing a flower and candle light ceremony to commemorate the victims of the wall. Dr. Meier said; "This is an important event to be a part of. This can can bring the community together and educate the new generations so they may understand that this will forever be a part of Germany’s past and we do not want past mistakes to carry on in the future”

The Berlin Wall Memorial and Museum are very serious about the conservation of these grounds but would like to give the community an opportunity to show their respect to the ones who have died at the wall by bringing flowers and candles. We hope there will be huge and overwhelming showcase of these items.
Visitors are welcome and encouraged to take videos and pictures of this event and share them on social media so that the world may know that Germany has not forgotten.

Please do not bring your pets or young children as candles are not safe for them and we would like to maintain the integrity of the grounds by keeping it clean.
The Berlin Wall Foundation will have a meeting including members of polital sectors and society about whether or not graffiti will be removed from the walls. Although graffiti is a part of our art culture, preservation is important to this foundation. To learn more,
Photographic Rights
The Memorial Museum has a large collection of the photos stored but actual rights are held by a third party, in which case we are unable to make them available to the public. This year we are fighting for the right to show all photographs we have in our collection.
